Vacation around the West

Ashton's family planned a family reunion for the Fourth of July weekend up in Utah. When we were talking about it, I said that we couldn't go to Utah unless we went to Idaho to see my brother; then Ashton said that we couldn't go up to Utah unless we went to Colorado as well because he has been wanting to take me to his grandpa's house there. We ended up planning this huge trip going through 6 states just so we could see everything we had wanted to... which was great because everyone tells us we won't be able to travel as much once we have kids, so it was perfect to do it all now. 

On my own little plug, I am so grateful to be close and friends with the man I married. You'd think that being in the car with the same person for 10 days would drive you crazy, but we loved having the time to spend together, especially since we barely get an hour or two (if we're lucky) each night at home. I love my marriage :)

So we stopped at Las Vegas, Nevada the first night, saw some attractions and had a nice steak dinner. It was crazy that we went to bed around 2 am but the party wasn't anywhere close to ending outside our hotel room. 

The next night, we made it all the way to Melba, Idaho.

We stayed on the feedlot with Sheridan...

...and went to church where we got to meet a lot of his new friends: 

One of the days we went White Water Rafting. Our first big set of rapids, Ashton and Jenica got bucked out:

 Right after, we hit a bunch more rapids, so they got sucked under water... 

Then we tried to paddle to them when they came up... 

 
 Eventually we got Jenica in, but we missed Ashton so he had to keep floating until we were through the rapids. They were a little banged up but it was definitely a good story afterwards. 

 One of the days, we went to Cabelas to get bow fishing licenses and a bow for Sheridan

 Then we ate at Joe's Crab Shack:

And finally, went bowfishing :):

We went to the Boise temple for Sheridan's first time ever (best part of the trip :))

Then we went on to Utah! These are kind of self explanatory....

 When we went bowfishing in Utah, my arrow got stuck in a tree so Ashton went to retrieve it. When he was coming back up, I set my stuff down to help pull in the arrow and my camera rolled down the bank and splashed into the water, so these are the last pictures that I have. :(
